Have you ever wondered where or how does the furniture that you buy for your home is made? What about the materials used? Is there any animal cruelty involved in the process of manufacturing it?
Here are some tips for you to keep in mind the next time you are shopping for furniture or accessories for your spaces.
Sofas and Couches
Sofas and couches are definitely an essential piece of furniture for the modern home. We all know the feeling of getting home after a long day at work and relaxing on our favorite spot on the couch. And, of course, a lot of times the couch is also the focal point in the family or living room.
Many of us like leather couches; they are slick and soft, and we like their look and texture. But real leather is just one option. Nowadays we have super soft, imitation leather, man made materials that can prevent approximately two hundred cows from suffering during the process of making just one couch.
Eco friendly area rugs are very much in style these days. They feel and look much like traditional area rugs and carpets. They come in beautiful designs and one would be hard pressed to notice the difference between these animal friendly products and the more traditional ones.
Shopping for these innovative accessories need not be hard, either. Some online stores, such as Wayfair, have an entire eco friendly and cruelty free section on their site, with stylish and affordable options.
These are just a couple of examples of ways we can become a little more conscious and selective when shopping for furniture and accessories to decorate our home and office spaces.
